Everything You Need to Know About Huntsville’s Newest Coworking Space
By Abigail Harrison, DHI Communications Coordinator
Coin Coworking, Huntsville’s newest premier coworking space founded by Will Harbison, has established two locations in the downtown footprint. Coin offers a sleek and professional environment for workers who lack traditional brick-and-mortar office spaces. With its innovative approach and community focus, Coin Coworking is set to become a cornerstone of Huntsville's business landscape, offering a workspace solution that meets the diverse needs of modern professionals.
The Concept of Coworking
"Coworking started around 2015 in larger cities as a community workspace that is affordable and collaborative," said Harbison. "It's great for people starting businesses who can't afford an office lease. It brings together individuals from diverse fields to collaborate, creating a vibrant work environment."
The Birth of Coin Coworking
Harbison's entrepreneurial spirit and his family's move to Huntsville to help start a church sparked the idea for Coin Coworking. "I wanted to find a way to support the community and generate income," he explained.
Inspired by co-working spaces in other cities and documentaries on popular models like WeWork, Harbison saw potential in Huntsville's market. "We realized there was a unique need that wasn’t being met, and that’s how Coin Coworking began."
Locations: Lincoln Mill and Downtown Core
In 2021, Coin Coworking opened its first location at Lincoln Mill, an industrial-style building with a modern twist. "We wanted a space that was both inspiring and professional," Harbison noted.
The success of the Lincoln Mill location led to the opening of a second space at 105 Washington Street, which officially opened on July 8. "We saw a demand for creative and affordable workspaces downtown, and with the help of Krunkleton, we found the perfect spot,” Harbison said.
Flexible Membership Options
Coin Coworking offers various membership plans to cater to different needs:
Day Passes: For $35, anyone can access the space for a day.
Flex Membership: At $210 per month, this plan offers month-to-month access to shared spaces, including Wi-Fi, printer, snacks, and drinks.
Dedicated Desk: For $350 per month, members get a designated desk along with all flex membership benefits.
Private Offices: Available with a six-month contract, prices vary based on office size.
Mailing Address Membership: For $100 per month, businesses can use Coin's address for mail and packages.
Downtown's Appeal
Harbison highlighted the advantages of the downtown location, emphasizing the vibrant community and accessibility to local amenities.
"Our members appreciate being close to the square, restaurants, and shops," he said. "We're bringing a new dimension to downtown Huntsville by offering professional and creative workspaces."
Member Benefits
Coin Coworking members have access to both locations, providing flexibility and a change of scenery. The spaces are also available for event rentals, business meetings, and after-work social hours.
