10 Must-Attend Events Happening this Weekend!

This weekend is packed full of events you don’t want to miss! From free concerts, to art markets, to a Cindo de May celebration- Downtown Huntsville is the place to be.
Mayor’s Bike Ride & Block Party
Cruise Downtown Huntsville as part of Mayor Battle’s 15th Annual Bike Ride! The ride will start at 10:30 AM and will be led by Mayor Battle and the Huntsville Police Department’s Bike Unit.
This 4-mile bike ride is open to all ages! After the ride, everyone is welcome to enjoy the fun festivities in Big Spring Park. There will be food trucks, vendors, an inflatable obstacle course, yard games, scavenger hunts, a bike rodeo, and more!
The event is Saturday, May 4 from 10 AM - 1 PM in Big Spring Park.
Fitness in the Park
Join Healthy Huntsville for Fitness in the Park: Family Boot Camp with Burn Boot Camp as part of the Mayor Battle's Bike Ride and Block Party.
This free workout is for participants ages 16+ and will be led by Burn Boot Camp. The boot camp is Saturday, May 4 from 10-11 AM in Big Spring Park.
Downtown Art Walk
Explore new scenes in beautiful Downtown Huntsville while shopping for art, jewelry, decor, treats, and more from over 50 local vendors! The event is FREE to attend and will include live music, yard games, and kid-friendly activities. And it’s in an open entertainment districts, so you can grab a purple cup from a local establishment to sip on while you stroll.
The first Downtown Art Walk of the year is this Saturday, May 4 from 11 AM - 3 PM around Courthouse Square.
PorchFest FivePoints
Enjoy an evening of community and live music at PorchFest. More than three dozen artists and bands will perform on 10 different porches throughout Five Points. The event is free to attend, and food will be available for purchase.
PorchFest is happening this Saturday, May 4 from 5-9 PM in the Five Points Historic District.
The Curated Gallery Underground Art Exhibit
Browse curated art from local and international artists at this Underground Exhibit. Attendees will be able to closely explore the art pieces, meet some of the artists, and ask questions about the art. New this year is a kid’s art gallery, featuring hands-on activities and displays from children.
The exhibit will run from May 2-4 and will be open 5-8 PM on Thursday and 5-9 PM on Friday and Saturday. The art is set up in the basement of the Times Building at 228 Holmes Avenue NE. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
Concerts on the Dock
The first Concerts on the Dock of the year is happening this Friday! Bring your folding chairs and picnic blankets, bring your buddies or your kids to hear some of the best local music around! The event is free, just pay $10 for parking. Come early to wander around the mill, eat dinner, or grab a drink!
The concert is happening Friday, May 3 from 6-9 PM at Lowe Mill A&E. The event will repeat every Friday in May.
Kentucky Derby Watch Party at Stella’s
Enjoy live music, derby races, and Kentucky Derby themed cocktails at Stella’s Elixir Lounge! Come dressed to impress in your derby best- big hats and bow ties. Giveaways, Official Maker's Mark Swag and a special "Millionaire's Row" will all be part of the fun!
The watch party is this Saturday, May 4, starting at 1 PM. The main race will be shown at 5:45 PM. The event is free entry.
May Maker’s Market at STA

The Maker’s Market is happening this Saturday, May 4, from 3-8 PM at Straight to Ale Brewery.
Cinco de Mayo Block Party
La Esquina Cocina presents the First Annual Downtown Cinco de Mayo Block Party! Join them for a fiesta like no other as they celebrate Cinco de Mayo in style. Enjoy an unforgettable day filled with Mexican food favorites, margaritas, and live music!
The celebration is this Sunday, May 5, from 12-6 PM at La Esquina Cocina.
May the 4th Be with You Concert
Calling all Star Wars fans! May 4 is “International Star Wars Day,” and of course the Huntsville Symphony intends to make an Imperially big deal about it. Few musicians in this galaxy (or any other) have impacted the art of cinema more than the great John Williams, whose insightfully crafted scores have enthralled audiences for more than seventy years now. This program celebrates the Movie Maestro’s life and legacy, along with classic selections by fellow film composers including Leonard Bernstein.
The Star Wars concert is this Saturday, May 4, at 7:30 PM at Mark C. Smith Concert Hall. Tickets are available for purchase on the HSO website.
