Weekend Events

It is a busy weekend in beautiful Downtown Huntsville! If you’re on the lookout for weekend plans, keep reading for a list of some events to attend. 

805 After Five
Headlining this month’s 805 After Five is the Vegabonds, a Nashville-based alternative Southern rock band with energetic performances and hook-heavy songs. The opening act for this month's concert will be the Shane Davis Group, a popular rock band from Huntsville. Look forward to yard games, interactive activities, food trucks, and great beer! 

This event is Thursday, September 19 from 5-8 PM at Butler Green Park. 

Latin Night at the Blind Tiger
Located in the heart of downtown, this upscale, speakeasy-style venue offers an intimate setting perfect for a night of dancing and fun. The event is free and kicks off with an intro to salsa lessons by Balia Huntsville at 8 PM, perfect for beginners and seasoned dancers alike. At 9m, DJ Rafi Torres takes over to open the dance floor, spinning a lively mix of Latin beats that'll keep you on your feet all night. 

Latin Night is at the Blind Tiger Thursday, September 19 at 8 PM. 

Food Truck Rally and Sunset Salsa Dancing
Grab your friends, family, or pets and head downtown to enjoy mouthwatering food trucks. Don't forget a chair or a blanket to sit, eat, and listen to live music by Maclain Lawson. This month's Food Truck Rally will feature sunset salsa dancing presented by Huntsville Parks and Recreation and Fred Astaire Dance Studio. Take your dancing partner and enjoy free dance lessons, then dance the night away with an open "dance floor".

The Food Truck Rally is Friday, September 20 from 5-9 PM at Big Spring Park, and Sunset Salsa Dancing will be from 6-8 PM outside of Pan E Vino. 

Downtown Art Walk
Explore scenes in beautiful Downtown Huntsville while shopping for art, jewelry, decor, treats, and more from over 50 local vendors! Each event is free to attend and will include live music by Lowery & Friends, yard games, and kid-friendly activities. You can also grab a purple cup from local establishments to sip while you stroll. In conjunction with the Downtown Huntsville Art Walk, DHI invites the community to enjoy the nearby “Legacy of the Invisible” event. 

The Downtown Art Walk is September 20 from 5 to 8 PM at Courthouse Square. 

Legacy of the Invisible
This event is a special celebration of “No Straight Lines,” a new downtown artwork by local artist Float. The event also coincides with the 25th Anniversary of the Chandra X-ray Observatory launch. "No Straight Lines" pays tribute to Huntsville's rich scientific legacy in astrophysics, highlighting the groundbreaking discoveries made possible by Huntsville scientists and engineers. The “Legacy of the Invisible” event will feature remarks from NASA and Arts Huntsville, offering insights into the artwork's inspiration and significance. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the artist, Float, whose creativity brings science to life through his art.

This event is September 20 with the program starting at 6:30 PM at the corner of Clinton Avenue and Washington Street.

Monte Sano Art Festival 
It’s art with a view! Head on over to Monte Sano State Park for the return of the Monte Sano Art Festival. The festival features over 130 visual artists from across the nation, local food trucks, and live music. This festival is a treasure chest full of one of a kind art masterpieces. Don’t forget your $10 for parking or $5 for walking entry. 

The Monte Sano Art Festival is Saturday, September 21 from 9 AM to 5 PM. Sunday, September 22 from 9 AM to 4 PM at Monte Sano State Park. 

Tinkerfest
This festival is celebrating all things STEAM! Tinkerfest will celebrate curiosity and creativity, allowing guests of all ages to explore how things work through hands-on learning. The festival takes over EarlyWorks Children’s Museum, Alabama Constitution Hall Park, and lining the streets in between. With over 25 local organizations, come tinker, play, and build at this event!

This event is Saturday, September 21 from 9 AM to 4 PM at EarlyWorks Children’s Museum. 

Jazz in the Park
Make sure to catch the final week of Jazz in the Park! Headlining this event is saxophonist Marcus Anderson with violinist Dominique Hammons and Noelette Leader opening.The theme is Alabama Hold ‘Em Night, so wear your favorite denim on this closing night of Jazz in the Park-Huntsville. 

This event is Sunday, September 22 from 5-8 PM. 

HCFC Match
Come out and cheer on the Boys in Blue for their last home game of the season! Huntsville faces off against FC Cincinnati 2.

This event is at Wicks Family Field on Sunday, September 22 at 6 PM. 

El Mercado Pueblo at University Pickers 
El Mercado del Pueblo will be a family-friendly weekly event that celebrates the flavors of Latin culture, cuisine, and community. Featuring kid-friendly activities, pinatas, homemade ice cream, amazing music, traditional drinks, and community resources. Also be on the lookout for authentic foods from Mexico, Venezuela, and Colummbia. Enjoy Latin art, traditional clothing, pottery, jewelry, and more!

This event is at University Pickers every Saturday from September 21 through November 9 from 9 AM to 1 PM. 

Fall Market at Kreative Vintage
A curated group of amazing vendors of vintage and antique furnishings, vintage and trendy clothes, home goods, pumpkins, local artists, and curated homemade goods and food! This free event features vendor giveaways and raffle drawings during the event.

This event is Saturday, September 21 from 10 AM to 5 PM at Kreative Vintage. 

Snail on the Wall Grand Opening
This will be a 2 day event with lots of exciting activities, giveaways, freebies, and more. Of course, there will be many books and new releases!

This event is Friday, September 20 from 10 AM to 5 PM and Saturday, September 21 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Snail on the Wall Bookstore.
