8 Ways to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Downtown

St. Patrick's Day, a global celebration of Irish culture and heritage, is eagerly anticipated by millions around the world each year. Whether you're of Irish descent or simply love to join in the festivities, Downtown Huntsville offers a vibrant and spirited atmosphere for celebrating this iconic holiday. From lively parades to traditional Irish fare, here's a guide to how you can celebrate St. Patrick's Day in downtown.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade- Downtown Huntsville will transform into a sea of green for the 47th Annual Ellen McAnelly Memorial St. Patrick’s Day Parade this Saturday, March 16. Organized by the Irish Society of North Alabama, this event will kick off at 11 a.m. and will feature over 90 groups. Click here for more information and to view the parade route.
Pre-Parade Kegs & Eggs at Straight to Ale- Fill up on a delicious brunch so that you can have energy to celebrate all day long! Kegs & Eggs will be served from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, but they’ll have food specials, Irish Dancers, new brews, bagpipers, music, and activities all day long! You can also stop by Straight to Ale after the parade for the official After Party from 2 p.m. to 12 a.m.
St. Patty’s Day Specials at BeeZr- Get a front row seat to the parade on Northside Square at BeeZr, while also enjoying their festive drink specials: Irish Car Bombs, Green Mimosas, Jameson Shots, and Irish Coffee.
St. Patrick’s Day Sidewalk Sale- Put on your Green and shop at the St. Patrick's Day Sidewalk Sale! Local vendors and artists will be out showcasing some amazing goodies, and you’ll get a prime spot for the parade. Vendors will be open Saturday from 11 a.m to 3 p.m. on Clinton Row.
Yellowhammer St. Patrick’s Day- Join in after the parade on Saturday to celebrate with green beer, live music, drink specials, hot dogs and more!
St. Patty’s at Sea Salt- Pre-game the parade at Sea Salt! They will be open on Saturday at 9 a.m. with guinness on tap, as well as other Irish beers! They will serve a themed food menu all day, with Irish Stew, Corned Beef & Cabbage with Potatoes, Tomato Spinach Quiche and Mushroom Onion Quiche, as well as specialty cocktails.
Specials at La Esquina Cocina- Grab a drink special at La Esquina after the parade! They will be serving green beer, St. Patty’s Margaritas, Green Martinis, and Irish Mules.
St. Patrick's Day Party at The Electric Belle- Enjoy free live music and fun activities at Stovehouse! The Electric Belle will also have themed drink specials throughout the evening. Doors open at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 17.
