6 Must-Try Summer Activities in Downtown Huntsville

In need of some ideas for summertime activities? We’ve got your back! Downtown Huntsville has many summer events and fun places for you to visit this summer.
1. Rocket City Rover Mixer Rides
Want to pedal your way around town with your friends on a pedal-powered extravaganza on wheels? The Rocket City Rovers offer weekly pub crawls on Fridays and Saturdays at 6 PM and 8 PM in Downtown Huntsville. Private rides are also available Sunday through Saturday from Noon to 10 PM by request. Other options for these rides include spin classes, brunch rides, and customizable private tours. 2. Visit John Hunt Park
John Hunt Park has many attractions and courts for both you and your family to enjoy. Some options include an 18 hole disc golf course with layouts for both advanced players and recreational players. John Hunt Park also offers a Get-A-Way Skatepark, which is a 52,000 square foot skatepark including three bowl areas, two snake runs, a street plaza and more. Another exciting option is the Kids Space Playground, which offers three themed areas, taking children through Huntsville’s past, present, and future.
3. Downtown Huntsville Trails
Downtown Huntsville, Inc. offers several craft trails for you to enjoy. Our Craft Beer Trail offers a definitive list of where to sip suds around town. At every stop on the Downtown Huntsville Craft Beer Trail, there are incredible, unique pours that cannot be found anywhere else. Enjoy $5 admissions on Thursdays from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Huntsville Museum of Art. Guests 21+ will be able to purchase a glass of wine from the Church Street Wine Shoppe for $7. Additionally, lookout for musical guests, featured wine selections, docent tours, and more. Coming up this week, be on the lookout for a performance from Matthew Newell and Friends, Opera. Thursday evenings are for wine, art, and culture!
5. Monte Sano Hiking Trails
In need of some new hiking trails to try for this summer? Monte Sano offers several trails of various lengths for you to try. One of the most popular trails offered is Three Caves Trail, this is a 3.7 mile hike with interesting rock formations and includes a visit to the three caves along the way. With many trails to choose from, be sure to find the perfect hike for your summer day!
6. Downtown Huntsville BlueBikes
Explore and cycle around Huntsville this summer on our bikeshare program. Downtown BlueBikes offer riders a unique way to experience Downtown Huntsville and provide a mode of transportation that is clean and energy friendly. To check out a BlueBike at any station downtown, download the Movatic app, create an account, and enter in your payment information. You can either sign up for a membership or pay by the 30 minutes. Riders should scan the QR code or enter the bike number to unlock the bike from the rack, bikes can be returned to any station.
